Gigabit PoE Media Converter is a 10/100/1000Base-TX to 1000Base-FX (also can be forced to 100Base-FX) media converter, which allows two types of network segment to be connected easily. Complied with IEEE802.3at or IEEE802.3af standard, the Internal AC/DC powered PoE media converter is a Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) which combines data transfered over a fiber optic link with 48V (or other voltage) power supply, providing power to IEEE802.3at or IEEE802.3af powered device (PD) over CAT5e/CAT6 UTP cable (cable length up to 100meters / 330feets).
The converter includes a single port PSE controller, which offers PD signature sensing and power monitoring features. Other features include over-current protection, LFP function, etc. The LFP (Link Fauit Pass-through) allows the media converter to monitor both the fiber and copper RX port for loss of signal. In case of a loss of RX signal on one media port, the converter will automatically disable the TX signal to the other media port, thus passing through the link fault.

The Gigabit PoE Media Converter enables enterprises to provide power to network devices over the existing CAT5 data connection. This PoE Ethernet to Fiber Converter provides an economical path to extend the distance of an existing network with fiber cabling. At the same time they function as PoE injectors to power devices like IP phones, video conferencing equipment, IP cameras and Wi-Fi devices over copper UTP cabling. For this PoE media converter, customized power supply is also available.

The Gigabit PoE Media Converter is designed specifically to satisfy the growing demand for higher power required network equipment such as network cameras, dome cameras, color touch-screen VoIP telephones, multi-channel IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n wireless LAN access points and other network devices that need a higher power to function normally.
Link Fault Pass Through Function (LFP)
The Gigabit PoE Media Converter provides DIP switch to disable or enable the Link Fault Pass Through Function. When the DIP switch is ON, the Link Fault Pass Through Function is enabled. Then if the TP line or fiber line of the device which connected to the converter loses the link, the converter’s fiber will disconnect the link of transmission. It can immediately alarm the administrators over the issue from the link media and provide an efficient solution to monitor the network power usage.
